  • At Yappi, we take your privacy seriously and except where required for our services to function, such as third-party technologies for billing or other services or where you might opt-in to share your data between websites and apps, we never share your information. We treat your data in a manner we would want our data to be treated. However, if you do not agree with the below policies and practices, your choice is not to use our services, apps or websites.
Data Collection
  • When you register to use our apps and websites on smart TV’s, mobile and computer devices via direct contact, email, third-party websites and apps we may collect contact information such as name, phone number, billing and mailing address, email and images. We may also collect unique identifiers including username and password, device type, operating system, browsers, IP details, access times, pages viewed, credit card information, demographic information, forum posts and any related information necessary for delivering and improving our products and services.
  • We use this information to create and update your account, verifying identity and for enabling communications with you about your account or to assist you when you contact our customersupport services.
Cookies Use
  • We use various technologies to collect information, and this may include sending cookies to your smart TV, computer or mobile device. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us to improve our services and your experience, see which areas and features of our services are popular and count visits. We may also allow others to provide audience measurement and analytics services for us, to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet, and to track and report on the performance of those advertisements. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, software development kits (SDK) and other technologies to identify your device when you visit our site and use our services, as well as when you visit other online sites and services. Web beacons are electronic images that may be used in our Services or emails and help deliver cookies, count visits, understand usage and campaign effectiveness and determine whether an email has been opened and acted upon. SDKs are a collection of software development tools in one installable package.
  • Yappi is based in the United States and the information we collect about users is governed by U.S. law. By becoming a registered user, you consent to the transfer and processing of information in the U.S. and other countries.
Data Disclosures
  • We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.
  • We may allow others to serve advertisements in-app and across the Internet and provide analytics services on our behalf. These entities may use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information about your use of our website and other websites, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information. This information may be used by Yappi and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on our website and other websites and better understand your online activity.
Unsubscribe from Marketing
  • If you receive marketing e-mail messages from us and wish to opt out of receiving such messages, then you may simply follow the opt-out procedure specified in such e-mail. All emails sent from www.yappitv.com have unsubscribe links. If you have problems opting out of any list for any reason, please contact support at www.yappitv.com.
User Account Information and Notices
  • Please note that account information emails are separate from marketing emails and we encourage users to add these emails to their safe list in order to receive account updates, copies of their receipts, password reset emails we well as other pertinent account correspondence. Please safe list emails from www.yappitv.com in your email account.
International Data Transfers
  • Visitors' and users' information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which they reside. Specifically, our apps, websites and services are hosted on servers located in the United States of America, and our group companies and third-party service providers and partners may operate around the world. Profile Update and Removal
  • You may update or remove your profile information by logging into the Yappi smart TV app. We encourage our users to access, update and edit their contact information and keep it current. For more help, please reach out to our support service at www.yappitv.com.
Data Retention
  • We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so. for example, to provide you with the Service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements. We also consider the periods for which we might need to retain personal data in order to meet our legal obligations, or to deal with complaints and queries, and to protect our legal rights in the event of a claim being made.
  • In general, this means that we will likely keep your Personal data for as long as your User Account is open. Following closure of your User Account, however, we may still retain a limited portion of your Personal data so that we can maintain a continuous relationship with you if and when we are in contact with you again, and to comply with our internal processes and any legal obligations.
  • When we no longer need your personal data, we will securely delete or destroy it. We will also consider if and how we can minimize over time the personal data that we use, and if we can anonymize your personal data so that it can no longer be associated with you or identify you, in which case we may use that information without further notice to you.
